Qihai translates to 'the sea of Qi'
Also known as Dantian, it is the place where deep energies are stored and produced.
It is a point that regulates the Qi mechanism: problem of deficiency, stagnation, entry-exit.

Location of Qihai

Qihai is located 3.5 cun above the pubis.
In the middle between Guanyuan and the navel, i.e. 1.5 cun below the navel.

Therapeutic functions and clinical indications of Qihai

  • Qihai is indicated in cases of spleen or kidney Qi deficiency → Qihai for the average household
  • Guanyuan is indicated in cases of spleen or kidney yang deficiency (presence of cold) → Guanyuan for the lower hearth
