Yongquan (KI 1)

Point jing (puits) du Rein, point Bois.

Location of Yongquan

We imagine a vertical line which cuts the foot in 2 and passes through the 2^nd toe under the sole of the foot (between the metatarsal and the heel). We divide this line into 3 parts, Yongquan be 1/3 behind the meta head, or 2/3 in front of the heel.
The patient can be asked to curl their toes, a depression will be created. Yongquan is at the center of this depression.

Yongquan therapeutic functions

• Yongquan ouvre les orifices, réveille l’Esprit et purge la Chaleur : syncope, coma ;
• Point le plus bas du corps : abaisser le Yang/Feu (surtout si Yang du Foie monte trop) si montée excessive du Yang/Feu.
  If hypertension par montée du Yang, insomnie + syndrome cocotte-minute ;
• On chauffe ce point pour tonifier le Yang du Rein ou bien pour nourrir le Yin mais plus pour le Yang (marcher pieds nus sur un sol froid peut endommager le Yang ;
• Gère le Vent interne car point Bois.
