Shaofu (HT 8)

xing (spring) Point, associated with fire.

Location

Shaofu is located in the palm, between the 4th and 5th metacarpal bones, just behind the metacarpal heads.
When you fold your fingers, the little finger naturally lands on Shaofu.

Therapeutic functions and Clinical indications

• Clears heart fire: treats palpitations, restlessness with insomnia, hypertension, cystitis, mental disorders such as madness or dementia, certain skin conditions (hands sweating and peeling) and mouth ulcers;
• Excellent local point for hand conditions such as tendon ruptures or Dupuytren's contracture.
