Path of the Pericardium meridian

The pericardium meridian, Jueyin de main, will begin in the thorax, in the pericardium to which it binds and it will descend to couple with the Triple Heater (it disperses to the 3 centers).

Externally, it will exit through the chest, next to the nipple at the point Tianchi (4th intercostal space). It will go down the entire inner side of the arm, middle part.
It passes through the middle of the elbow crease, on the inner edge of the biceps (exactly like the Lung meridian on the other side).
It will go down the middle of the inner side of the forearm.
Then it passes through the middle of the flexion crease of the wrist, then through the middle of the palm of the hand, then through the middle of the middle finger to end at the tip of the latter at the point Zhongchong.

From the center of the hand, to the point Laogong, we have a branch which leaves the main path to join the annular where the Triple Heater.

Description of the Pericardium meridian

The pericardium corresponds to the outer envelope of the heart.
Its function is to take for the heart, to catch perversities for the heart, to protect it.

In the clinic, this will be seen especially in terms of mental activities.

  • Heat illnesses that come from the outside penetrate the pericardium, which can lead to high fever, loss of consciousness or verbal delirium as possible symptoms;
  • Cloudy phlegm which disturbs the pericardium with possible symptoms of impaired consciousness or mental confusion.

Apart from these 2 situations, we do not distinguish disturbance of the pericardium and disturbance of the heart.
